Once selected, Steam will give you a series of options asking what your problem is. From there, you can pick the game/purchase you want to refund. If not, you can click on Games, Software, etc. or A Purchase. If the game you want to refund is one of the last four games played, it will appear in the options on the screen. Once you’re logged in via the browser, or you’re on the Steam Support page through the client, you’ll see a question: “What do you need help with?”

While that's the process that covers how to refund Steam games, it's worth reading the dedicated article covering eligibility, to stay informed about when you can request one.Steam’s automatic refunds are available for any game that has been played less than 2 hours, or if you have owned the game for less than 14 days. This isn’t the full extent of what refunds you can get, of course: Australian Consumer Law provides strong protections for any games that don’t work as advertised, ensuring refunds if a game has a major faults that would have stopped you from buying the title if you’d known beforehand.
Visit the Steam Help webpage and log in using your Steam account credentials.To sum the steps of getting a Steam Refund: You should receive a confirmation email after which Steam staff will go over your refund request and determine whether you're eligible or not. Select a reason for your refund and follow it by writing any other relevant detail behind your request in the Notes section, then click Submit request. The page should then look similar to the one in the smaller image above and on the right side. From the drop-down menu, select your preferred refund method. Selecting I'd like to request a refund loads a form just beneath it. This moves you to a separate page that highlights the game you're looking to refund on top, while giving you the option of receiving help with gameplay or technical issues, or requesting a refund.
